review 1: At times so funny I had to cover my mouth so as to not disturb those around me but at the same time, the sadness seemed to overwhelm me as well. The characters are well defined and engaging. The main 'dude' was/is quite a mystery...there's definitely something quite horrible to have happened bad enough to still have some sort of PTSD symptoms including panics attacks.I'm off to read the second part...this cliffy certainly made sure of that!!All in all a well rounded story with twists and turns and questions left to be answered ... Can't wait. Why 4*'s? It kept my interest, made me fall in love with the characters and family members, made me smile and at times made my heart hurt just the right amount ... That's talent right there.
review 2: The writing style this
... morebook was written in was very distracting, it took me quite a while to get used to. I agree, with others, Susie was way over the top, trying too hard to be funny and Jackie talked like she just downed a 6 pack of 5 hr energy. Now for the leads, I liked them, I liked that the relationship developed over time. I liked the dual POV. I liked his family, really enjoyed Chad. Looking forward to The Color of Forgiveness. less

I did not finish this book as I could get on with the present tense writing.

I liked it. Not sure if I'll read the next book, though.

Slow at first, but hang in there.
