review 1: I think novella length books are the perfect answer to a hectic life, and I thought Maeve did a wonderful job developing her characters and her storyline. I think she should be commended for bridging the nuances of the different times, and I could feel the pull of the Scottish Highlands in the voice of her characters. One reviewer mentioned this was part of a series. I have not read the previous stories by Maeve, but I did not feel anything was missing from my standalone reading of A Highlander In Her Past. (AlthoughI am certainly encouraged to download others by Ms Greyson.)
review 2: If you've ever read a time travel romance then you know how this book goes. It was predictable in that way: girl falls through time; girl meets hunky highlander; conflict requires
... more girl and hunky highlander to bond; true love ensues. But despite its predictability it was a fun read because the author created charming characters whose lives I enjoyed sharing. Also, in a way that is very refreshing for a romance novel, the author created a sex-positive heroine who embraces her sexuality without any of the baggage other romance novels would give to her. Kudos for that. I wish the book had been longer because I wanted to spend more time in this world. Good news for me is that its part of a series so while I can't return to these characters without re-reading I can enjoy to others I've met in passing. less

Another great story of Scottish romance, time travel, spells, and love from Maeve Greyson.

I was disappointed with this book. It read more like the outline of a book.
