review 1: This book was my first introduction to 'Chick Lit' and I absolutely loved it and couldn't put it down!!! It was witty, romantic, sad, funny. All the things you could want in a good book. It really makes you think about the choices you make in your life and the compromises we make for the ones we love and if we should settle for something because life is comfortable or start over and have the opportunity to be truly content.
review 2: Maggie Alderson is one of my favourite authors, I'll be frank. How To Break Your Own Heart was a plot line that was close to my heart. It draws them together, and is a story about growth, change and taking chances.In the 'chick-lit' fild as it's called, there's so much dross. Then there's books that realise the characters wonderfully and tell a good story. I'm very glad to say this is one of the latter. less

the main character was a little hard to get into at first but it turned out to be an ok read !
