review 1: Ok, so I will admit it. I bought this book (actually the entire series) on a whim at a charity sale where they didn't have much, but I did want to support the charity and so I bought these. I really wasn't expecting much considering the publisher - actually I was expecting something MUCH more romance-y than what I got... which made me VERY happy. I actually really did enjoy this book, to the point where the first day I picked it up I think I read until about 3am, when I fell asleep with the light on and my book still in my hand - it was that good. I was surprised, because this book actually brought something fresh to the table - it is NOT your typical ghostly haunting story, which made me enjoy it.For such a short book, it jumps right into the plot and doesn't drag at all.... more I was thrilled that the romance was more of a sub-sub plot (barely there) instead of at the forefront. Great book for sure, and one that I cannot wait to continue the series of. I am so glad I bought all 3!!
review 2: Why I read: I received the first book to read and review, and I really enjoyed it, so I figured this would be just as good. What impressed me: How much I've grown to like the characters in this series, even within the first book I couldn't help but like even the "unlikeable" characters. They all have these complex but distinct personalities, not even the minor characters are two dimensional. The first book I thought the events during the climax were a bit creepy, but in this book I was definitely creeped out, and If i had seen those scenes in a movie or something I probably would have peed myself in terror lol. What disappointed me: Nothing really.Recommended: Yes I do. Really, read it.Continue series: Of course. less
