review 1: This book was fairly enjoyable. I felt like it got better in the last 100 pages or so. There were times when I felt like it back peddled at times- either the plot started to fall short or the characters started to lose some of the redeeming qualities the author was giving them. In short the writing style was a little off. But overall the book was really good- by the end all the characters had their happy ending and the book wrapped up very nicely.
review 2: A quick read. Gal is in kidney dialysis waiting for a donation match so along with learning about roses you learn some facts about people who are missing kidneys. Then her fifteen year old neice arrives mostly unannounced on her doorstep. They were once close but haven't seen one another for ten years or so
... more. Gal has lived alone for years so there is some adjustment on both sides but Riley is a good kid and Gal is her stability. less

A nice, somewhat predictable story, maybe a little too obvious with the rose metaphors.

Great story about what family is and who it is - and forgiveness

Slow moving. I felt no anticipation to finish.
