review 1: I REALLY loved this book. I will admit, that I was kind of confused during the first chapter. But then in Chapter 2 we go back in time a few months and everything is explained really well. Hope and Chance are such well developed characters and I was rooting for them the whole time. I like the constant conflict and struggle between those from Earth, with themselves as well as what to do with the Locals. A very well written story. I will definitely be reading more of Langager's work.
review 2: Heart-pounding and heart-wrenching, Marie Langager immediately pulled me into these characters lives and kept the tension running until the last moment. Set against a plausible future, BEYOND OUR STARS is a story about humanity - at our best and our worst. With an entire ra

In some ways a sweeping sci-fi, it's also a very small, very personal story about the families we make and the bonds we build. All together lovely and thrilling and moving. Bravo. less

Kind of disappointing. I was hoping for more drama and adventure, but it was a bit too tweeny for me

Awful. That's all I have to say. Worst sci-fi book ever.
