review 1: Another great book from Mark Cotta Vaz for understanding all the technical manipulating, choreographing, designing, editing...the list goes on - that went into to making this engaging and entertaining film. I particularly liked detailed explanation of all that went into creating the wolves. That being said - really a book for those who are interested in film making. It reads a bit like a text book. If you are looking for a book to give you details on how the cast got along, you might be disappointed.
review 2: An insightful and detailed look behind the scenes of New Moon. I loved Twilight, but I am convinced that NM will exceed above and beyond the first film. Visually, at least. The makeup is better, the cinematography is warmer, and the special effects will
... more (hopefully) look professional and seamless instead of cheesy. The creative processes explored in this book are well worth delving into. There is also info about re-creating locations seen in Twilight, who created the wolf motif tattoo for the pack, background about the Volturi... My only (small) complaint is that there is no mention of the score or the part music played in this film. The NM companion is worth buying just for the pics. High quality and, yes, swoonably beautiful. Not to mention droolworthy :)Whatever team you're on, you won't be disappointed! less

I love reading about the reality of turning a book into a movie. It is fun to see the process of finding sets and locations, how makeup and hair are done, and especially how the stunts are put together. The writing was easy to read and well put together, although in the beginning there was a plethora of descriptive words...it seemed a bit overdone.Mostly...you gotta love the pictures! One goof...a picture is labeled "part of Bella's dream" when it is really the scene Aro sees of Bella as a vampire when he holds Alice's hand in the movie...which by the way, has to be THE DUMBEST thing they put into the movie...totally unnecessary and goofy! People actually laughed out loud. I would like to know the logic behind that stupid maneuver!Overall, quick, easy, and fun to read...I can't wait for Eclipse!

It is interesting to read about the back story of the making of New Moon. At this time, I am still sitting on pins and needles waiting for the movie to come out. This is a good filler until the release date. One of the problems I had with it was the flow of the writing. It was a little choppy and didn't flow well at times. There were times, within the same chapter, one paragraph to the next would be a completely different subject, so when I started reading it, I was like, What? Did I miss something in the transaction?

Nice companion guide to the overall movie. This was my least favorite book in the series though.
