review 1: 'She's Not There' is a gripping story with a bit of something for everyone. I am a big fan of crime novels and you need to have strong central characters so you care about them succeeding. The two main characters, TJ and Lisa, are very different but equally likeable and together they form a group who try to do what the police are not. Two become four; all sharing the same ultimate goal and linked by unfortunate life events. Marla Madison has created strong characters that I would happily read more about in another book. The processes they go through to reach their goal are believable and well thought out. There are moments that scared me, especially when I was reading and home alone! That, for me, makes a gripping book. When a story pulls you in and has your full attention... more that's the mark of a well thought out and well executed plot. I didn't find it predictable, as another reviewer said, as the direction the story took was a surprise to me. I enjoyed this book by Marla Madison and I recommend it to those who like twists and turns with some great, strong characters to take you on the ride. A recommended Who dunnit.
review 2: This was a wonderful suspense book that I really enjoyed. I love to watch the TV show Criminal Minds and as I read this book She's Not There from Marla Madison, I felt that I was reading instead of watching a show with suspence, and criminals and drama of people trying to solve the mystery of the disappearing women. My interest was taken as I found out why this group of people took it upon their selves to find the killer or killers. Not going to give the story away. The twists on this book I had no idea were coming which was so delightful to read and caught my interest even more. Anyone who likes to read suspence books and who done it will enjoy this thrilling ride. Good for you Marla, what a great read. less
