review 1: This was a two books in one deal. The first book, Traitor's Kiss, was interesting, romantic: somewhat. The overall story of how they escape jail and France is interesting. It is very wordy and descriptive. A good book. The second book Lover's Kiss, brings one of the characters from the first book as the protagonist along with the previous hero's sister. Again, very descriptive, interesting, romance really kicks in at the end and has a very interesting result to the suspense. My only issue was how the author tied up some loose ends with regards to the Duke and his brother. The explanations are vague, the "death" is confusing. A bit information about both of these would have completed the book. I am left confused.
review 2: I found a new author! On my rec
... moreent 'road trip' to Maine I stopped at Nora Roberts' bookstore, Turn the Page, in Boonsboro, Maryland. (I'm a real Nora Roberts' fan!) When one of the sales clerks found I was also a historical fiction fan, she recommended another Boonsboro author, Mary Blayney. I was not disappointed. This volume contains two of her books in the Pennistan series:'Traitor's Kiss' is full of intrigue and suspense in addition to romance. It was a 'page-turner' for me. I loved the H/H and their story. Even knowing the 'happily-ever-after' ending was coming, I was on pins and needles.'Lover's Kiss'was a little tedious at the beginning. Just as I was 'yawning' and a little bored the story picked up. It was not as suspenseful and intriguing as 'Traitor's Kiss', but still kept me wanting to read the other books in this series. Highly recommend you read these stories by Mary Blayney. less

This was a good set of books. Second ending went kinda rushed but still wasn't half bad a book :)

I likes Traitor's Kiss, but Lover's Kiss was even better! I love the author's style of writing.

The first story was wonderful. The second story lost my interest after she returned home

I really liked both these books. They was some suspense but just a good solid story.

Napoleonic spy historical romance. Not too bad because they weren't that trashy.
