review 1: Mary Firmin takes the reader on a wild ride of intrigue, passion, lust and murder. This murder mystery keeps readers on the edge of their seats until the surprise ending. I was drawn in from the first page. The inequality of women are not allowed to have "something on the side", in contrast to men is explored with delightful insight and intrigue. Would I recommend this to others? Definitely, with rave reviews. Firmin demonstrates her talent as an author with masterful crafting of characters and plot development that takes the reader through many twists and turns. Keep an eye on Mary Firmin; she's a winner!!
review 2: Mary Firmin's first novel is clearly a hint of great things to come. Although, not for those with a squeamish reading palate, this story will take... more you to the dark under belly of bondage parlors and sex clubs, not many are familiar with. I enjoyed it's fast pace, and characters. It's also a great Who Done It, and will keep you guessing right to the end. Ms. Firmin combines some very entertaining dialogue, along with her great characters, to deliver her dark tale of murder and mystery. It leaves me wanting more Megan & Matt down the line. If you're a fan of murder and mystery, I highly recommend Deadly Pleasures. She deserves the 5 stars in my opinion... less
