review 1: Isaac's Army is a superb book on so many levels. On a macro level, it gives us an understanding of the Warsaw Ghetto during WWII. But, on the micro level, we experience the lives of many characters. To say I "enjoyed" this book would be a misnomer. It is a book that leaves you breathless, angry, shocked, and marveling at the ability of humans to endure incredible hardship. This is a must book for those interested in how some survived and died during the terrible days of Nazi occupation of Poland.

... morethis story haunting, horrifying, intense, but so riveting I had trouble putting it down. I loved the epilogue, the last paragraph brought the book full circle, and really appreciate the time the author spent to accurately portray the characters and dreadful situations they lived through. My only quibble would be that I wish there had been pictures. I found myself reading next to the computer so I could look up people for a face to put with the name.I recommend this book to everyone. less

One of many Resistance narratives. Better than most. Well written and documented.
