The Third Victim

The Third Victim by Lisa Gardner

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This book is like a walk in the park for crime genre. Not even something that bear a mystery, well, maybe a little.
The background story is quite shallow, based on the school shootings. I know it’s not an easy issue for most people, but this book could do better than that.

The story is quite fast pacing, many conversation so it’s quite easy to follow. Not many technical issues or stuff like that. For the characters, I feel like Rainie in this story is quite tight up. A bit of a bitch. Doesn’t like this or that, suspicious, but wants romance as well and refused Quinn’s approach in the end. I mean, what the hell ? It just doesn’t fit the character.

And then there’s the issue between her and Sep. It’s been hinting throughout the entire book, which make you really exhausting…come on..spill the beans will you ? and by the end of the story, it’s actually quite simple.

The plot is simple, school shooting, victim, investigation, and tadaa…we found the suspect. And the reasons behind the killings is also not that strong. Really, a walk in the park for a crime story.

Recommended for readers that love mild crime, simple story, a bit of intrigue between characters, and don’t like to think too much about the story.
