review 1: I was actually excited to read this based on some rave reviews but I just didn't get it. There were a lot of inconsistencies and the author used descriptive words that didn't match the dialogue or the characters' moods. Also, the characters shifted mood for no apparent reason. I couldn't see the reasoning for some of their choices. I thought the plot and overall storyline was good, but it felt disjointed and didn't flow. I did like the importance the author placed of being a wife and mother at the end. I think this book has potential but needs a really good editor and some polishing.
review 2: I really enjoyed this book. I loved how the author created a romance that was engaging without sex scenes, a plus for me because I actually don't really like romance too... more much unless it's well done, and this one was. I loved Rachel, she was so smart, analytical, and yet so oblivious. The plot was great as well. The only thing I didn't really like, (and this is miniscule) is the cover. Isn't Rachel blonde? :P That's it! less
