review 1: This is one of those books that lingers with you long after you finish it. It deals with some interesting issues. Love this author's writing style--wonderfully descriptive, touching and real--without the syrupy sweetness. The dialogue is good, especially between Jack and Miranda, punctuated by his literary references and obscure vocabulary. Fell in love with little 4 year old Martha and her honesty. Recommend!
review 2: I think that this book was really amazing and I enjoyed it very much. In this book, Miranda is recovering from a serious fall and is trying to get back to her old lifestyle with the help of her brother-in-law, Jack Hanford. As Jack tries to get her to be more modern and not live in the past with her children, he realizes that there is much more ... moreto the story. Miranda has some secrets that could change everything. Under the pressure of Mason Chandler, Miranda is forced to toughen up if she wants to protect her children. How will she get to freedom of Mason and her past without creating battle lines? After every page I just wanted to read more and more! This book is full of tension, emotion, and some moments that will shock you. I really enjoyed how I was left wondering at some parts to try to find out myself how things would turn out. This book is definitely a book that I would recommend to others and I know that they will enjoy it. I loved reading this book! less
