review 1: The FavorWhenever anyone returns home after a long absence thing are not always how they remembered them to be. Janelle Decker left after high school and is returning now with her twelve year old son, Bennett.Nan, her grandmother is dying of a cancerous brain tumor and she is going to take care of her. She has left California and the warmer climate to possibly start over in this small town. When she arrives she finds that Gabriel Tierney and his dad along with his brother Andy are still living in the house next to her grandmothers.Bennett is having a difficult time adjusting to his new school and is not doing very well in most of his classes. Andy, Gabriel’s brother has offered to help tutor him with math. Gabe is a wonderful handyman and Janelle needs many repairs in ... morethis old house and needs his help. They rekindle the friendship they once shared along with lots of memories from the past. Will things move forward for the two of them? Can the past stay just that?I found it a little slow in the beginning but wanted to know what type of relationship they shared and so therefore had to finish it to see how the story continued.
review 2: While most readers of Megan Hart are used to steamy, hot, melt-into-a-puddle romances; this one is not as hot as you would expect. It's still a great story, mind you. Megan never fails to pull you into the lives of her characters and you always, always find yourself feeling their emotions, living their moments. She certainly did not disappoint in this book. It just didn't tread down the "I need a cold shower now" lane as a lot of hers do. Great work, Megan...as always. less
