review 1: Writing style didn't appeal to me much. The main character felt all over the place and wishy-washy. What little we see of the ex makes us wonder why Carson ever liked him. What little we see of Carson makes us wonder why Alec, the vet who finds his dog (that the ex took when they split), likes him. I think this is one story which might have benefitted some from flashbacks to help us get to know the MCs better. Without that, it's basically "lust at first sight, but we used to know OF each other in high school, so that's okay." It's HFN. 2.5 stars.
review 2: Vet says he's always wanted a truck... Well why doesn't he buy one? Especially if he makes house calls and stuff. And his own driveway sounds like it needs a truck to get down. Why wouldn't they shut the door... more while having sex? Having the dog bark and jump on the bed during is not sexy, IMOSome how mc goes from not wanting another relationship at the beginning to meet the vet and immediately going home with him. Fuck once and after he says he wants more than sex... Okay when did that happen since he didn't want to date again like earlier that dayAfter sex something happens I'm not sure what since it wasn't clear but he has to leave and thinks about what a bad first date it was. A first date that was literally going to vets for dog. Going home with vet. Fucking. Then some kind of misunderstanding and he leaves. Not a classic first date. Then the end scene just leaves so many questions. How did he meet Leon? The mc says he doesn't turn tricks anymore? So he used to be a whore? What does he do for money? I guess it was sweet in its own way but I really didn't like it. less
