review 1: This was really fun. I liked Jade a lot (she was only occasionally an idiot); the world-building was kept simple but adequate, the premise was good, the pace was quick. Will definitely read the next one. I've even thought of a good basis for a second trilogy in case Ms. Doidge needs one!!The only difficulty will be making myself wait for the next one until after I have finished some other things I really need to do!!
review 2: The title threw me at fist because I didn't expect much of the book. I was gladly mistaken once I started to read and didn't want to put the book down.The story line was great and kept me entertained to the end. I never even realised that there were that many varieties of cake things, not being a big cake fundie. Lol - and no this book is... more nothing about recipes.Throw in a vampire and werewolves, and magick and you have a good recipe for great entertainment. I definitely will be getting the sequel.Well done Meghan less
