review 1: Everett and Julia were both sympathetic characters. They both needed someone to believe in them and love them. Everett, having been rejected too many times doesn't want to trust Julia with any part of himself. He doesn't share his thoughts, his work, or his bed. Julia, having a secret in her past, is obviously running. She just wants to hide and Everett is her solution. She doesn't know anything about farm life but she perseveres. You find yourself laughing and near tears through out the book. I love the sweet salvation experience of Julia led to the Lord by her husband. The author does a superb job explaining a simple yet complicated issue of faith. The sweetest part comes when Julia desires forgiveness from her husband for the terrible sin of her past. Ms. Jagears does a... more great job describing Everett's tender mercies toward his wife. This is a must read.
review 2: This was a nice clean Christian love story. We learn of Julia's struggles toward men and Everett's fear of another rejection. I felt this story dragged on too much. I think Julia & Everett should have got through their issues much sooner. Also never really had closure to the Ned issue, that part of the tale seemed to be left open. However they both turn to God for direction and work it all out. Happy ending and they wind up with a healthy boy, something Julia didn't think she'd have. less

Was a great read but has some things lacking. Her father and the man she was running from.
