review 1: Thank you goodreads for having a free ebook of this for me to love! Without that I would have probably waited a long time to read this, and missed out on the wonderful novel that is After Forever Ends! When I started this book I was like "where is this going". I didn't expect it to be about an old woman. But it's not really about an old woman. It's about her amazing, beautiful life, and love. The characters were fantastic, and as I often do I became very attached to them. I laughed out loud while reading, and I certainly sobbed at different events. To me, that's what makes a good book. I loved the way Melodie Ramone made it sound like Silvia was telling the story out loud (as she was). It was such an easy read and a nice style of writing. This was probably meant for reader... mores older than myself, but I loved it all the same. I would recommend this to anyone who loves an epic love story. It certainly was epic!! Easily one of my favourites, and deserves more than 5 stars! Thanks Melodie :)
review 2: I really wanted to give this book five stars because it is one of the most beautifully heart wrenching books I have read in a long time but it was too damn LONG. Usually, I want to read a novel and escape for as long as possible. In After Forever Ends, the story focuses on the epic love/friendship between Sylvie and to twin brothers Alex and Ollie. I loved the complexity of the relationship in this book. It wasn't a love triangle by any means but the friendship between Alex and Sylvie is almost as epic as the romance between Oliver and Sylvie.Ultimately the book is about love, not romantic love in itself but romantic love that serves as a starting point for a multitude of love, familial love, friendships, pets, homes , countries and ultimately self love. That's what a really powerful romance will do, give you love in all its forms. That being said, Oliver, Alex and Sylvie's story is the the focus of the book and all the time spent at the end documenting the lives of their numerous offspring is just unnecessary. It didn't really move the plot forward and wasn't detailed enough to absorb you into their individual lives. And there were just too many of them.Im probably going to read a terrible new adult novel after this and realize that even given the book's unnecessary length, its still one of the best love stories of all time, a true modern classic and give it 5 stars. As a matter of fact, I'll just do that now. less
