review 1: Wow! What a wonderful first book to the Dear Daphne Series. It is beautifully written. I love the characters. Daphne has great character traits. She inherits from her aunt with strings attached. Will she be able to fulfill those strings? I guess we will just have to wait until the end of the series. In the mean time we will get to enjoy the process and come to fall in love with Daphne. I can’t wait to pick up the second book in the series and read it.
review 2: A new series by popular Christian author, Melody Carlson, book one of the Dear Daphne series doesn’t disappoint. I personally thoroughly enjoyed this book.The heroine, Daphne Ballinger, leaves her rather disappointing New York life when her Aunt Dee’s passing unexpectedly opens new door... mores for Daphne back in her hometown. Aunt Dee’s will reveals that Daphne is the sole heiress of Dee’s estate, including her beautiful Victorian house. However, Daphne learns there are quite a few conditions, and even more secrets, in Aunt Dee’s will. In order to keep the house permanently, Daphne must marry- for love- within one year, or else the entire estate goes to the cats! Now every single man in Appleton is starting to look like a possible catch and there are plenty of matchmakers eager to see Daphne wed. The last thing Daphne wants though is to jump the gun and marry someone just to keep her inheritance.
