review 1: This book was okay. I'm glad it was a freebie or I might have been upset. It got tons of great reviews, but I could see the events lining up before the happened. Nothing will force you to grow up like becoming a parent! 29-year-old Dylan becomes an instant father, aka Pre Fab, when his fiance is killed in an accident. Dylan tries to find Spring's real father or any other relative to care for her, but he eventually realizes he WANTS to be her father. There is a lot of growing up to be done and many plates to keep spinning, but Dylan figures out how to do it all.
review 2: The book appears to be intended as a romantic comedy screenplay, complete with stereotypes, implausible situations, set pieces that take the place of real action, and (spoiler alert) a ... morehappy ending. Really enjoyed the discussion at book club last night, and was relieved to hear most of the others thought the same things I did. Also appreciated the way the discussion went, with wit and insight. less
