review 1: Cat Tale is a colorful and playful book for young children to learn words. Three cats, Lillian, Tilly, and William J find their way from word to word. For example, they use a box. they box some fleas, and flee a steer...Some words in this book, sometimes are verb, sometimes are noun. It is so graceful that students can learn one word have different usage and characteristic.Children find the words that can be used as both verb and noun from this book. Then, let them discuss how many words they know like those words and write all of them. They can share lots of words with each other and learn more words from others. After discussion, they can use those words they have learned write some sentence using the same format with this book.

... moreations in the style of Eric Carle couples with a text that takes the reader through the process a writer would experience when pursuing the clever strategy of couplets that turn on noun-verb homophone pairs (steer-steer, plane-plane, shoe-shoo). At about the mid-point, the cat authors get lost in their own scheme and have to "get back on track in this silly little cat tale." The illustrations and text both convey their confusion and trial and error attempts to find the story line again. The last page finds them all on the couch reading books that feature the characters from the narrative. A great read aloud with potential for lessons on the writing process, homophones, and nouns and verbs. less
