review 1: The author repeatedly presents the book, not as an defence of particular attacks on the biblical canon, but as convincing the reader that those who believe in a biblical canon have a reasonable and rational belief. He does introduce some particular objections or "defeaters" to his presented model of the self-authenticating canon, but only gives a few paragraphs of negative argumentation with much of his material being positive.
review 2: Clear, compelling, and extremely well documented. Kruger takes a presuppositional approach in defense of the NT canon. He doesn't totally dispense of evidences (hence the last three chapters), but puts them in perspective of a self-authenticating understanding of the canon. Very well done. May be one of the best books I've read
... moreall year, if not thee best. A must read for those who want to understand how the NT came to be. I heartily recommend. less
