review 1: Accessible and fascinating explanation of what the deuce led to/caused the housing/economic meltdown in 2008. Powered by the stories of a few key players who saw this all coming, I come away feeling like I have a good understanding of the situation, though no reassurance that those responsible were held accountable or that significant reform came as a result. Let's just say I won't be encouraging my kids to be investment bankers...even those who made millions out of the deal seemed miserable throughout the process.

... morehe reader engaged in the midst of all the technical financial jargon. It can feel both too arcane and a little repetitive, but overall it's a very necessary (and thrilling) story that every American should know. And I can explain credit default swaps now, so that's a plus. Try me! less
