review 1: I have just read CLAIMED BY THE HIGLAND WARRIOR AND SEDUCED BY HER HIGHLAND WARRIOR.Ms. Willingham had three others in her "Accidental" series on sale, so I snapped them up.This one, THE ACCIDENTAL COUNTESS, didn't have the things that bothered me in the others. The repetition was minimal and there were issues outside of the couple instead of things that could have been fixed with one or two sentences.Which made THE ACCIDENTAL COUNTESS a very nice read. Stephen has been gone, with no word, for months. He set off to find Emily's brother. Daniel has been returned to Emily, dead. As you can imagine, this has been very hard on Emily. Now Stephen is back, with no memory of marrying Emily and no clue where he's been, beside the tattoo, in Chinese, on his neck. While on the on the... more one hand Emily wants to fling her arms around her husband, on the other she really wants to smack him hard, or poison his tea. She knows that he was at his mistresses home just before he disappeared. HOW she knows that was never explained. That happens a couple of times in this book. Something is mentioned, but not explained. Lots of red herrings that don't go anywhere, and don't really fit with the story. To top things off for him, she tells him that they are the guardians of her niece and nephew. He really doesn't think that he signed on to be a father, much less a husband.Still, this was an enjoyable read. Who doesn't like seeing a man holding a baby, right?
review 2: EH. I wasn't too thrilled with this book. I think for me, it was the simple fact that while mis-communication is often what makes romance books interesting... This book falls flat. I sat thru and read it.... in its entirety and I wish I could have fast fwd thru the majority of its plot. Good grief. Emily couldn't seem to get that someone's trying to kill her man,and he needs her out of the way so she can be safe. REALLY? I hate it when romance novels make women so weak and silly. I feel such a disconnect. SMH. Well. I did get through it. The sex scenes were short, but ok. I felt the chemistry between Emily and Stephen, but felt that she didn't really deserve him. In all honesty, she kept putting him off even when they were married... and that just annoyed me. Stephen was no better... he was all: " I want to wait for her to come to me..." REALLY? Where is the take charge rake we all need in our romance novels. He was missing from this one. Better luck next timne less

Why does the husband always have amnesia? Entertaining because of the mystery involved.

I inadvertently picked up a Harlequin and had nothing to read, so I read it.
