review 1: Emotional and romantic, Everything Between Us was a fantastic New Adult read. I really enjoyed reading this lovely book.Stella was a heroine trapped by her own panic attacks. Whenever she goes out in public, she is crippled with them, and has since decided to stay in her house. She dropped out of her college, moved back into her parents house, and refused to leave the safety of the solitude since then. But, her mother decides that enough is enough and hires an art teacher in the hopes that having some kind of creative expression would help Stella. I liked Stella. She was a strong character despite being trapped by the panic attacks. She starts off as kind of a passive character, but gradually gets stronger. She eventually decides to go to therapy for her panic attacks, go ... moreagainst what her parents want for her in favor of what she wants, and fights for she was wants. I thought she was a great character.Daniel was also wonderful. He's an artist who trades another service with the rich cougars. That reminded me of Mason from Price of a Kiss (totally love him!), but this situation was different in that Daniel was willingly doing it. Deep down, he was afraid that his talent alone wouldn't stand in the art world, and used the "extra lessons" as a crutch for his career. I have to admit, it was a little weird that Daniel was doing Stella's mom before they got together. Kind of bizarre. But, I could handle it, so it wasn't a bother. Daniel was very sweet. He was very devoted to what he loved, whether it was his art or Stella. I really liked him.The romance was lovely. Daniel and Stella were very sweet together. They were a perfect match and entirely devoted to each other. And, the chemistry between them was hot. I thought they were wonderful together. The plot was well paced. I was kept interested the entire through, though I wasn't totally hooked. I enjoyed the story and the ending was perfect.Everything Between Us was a fantastic New Adult romance. I really enjoyed reading it. Lovers of romance, this is a book you'll want to check out.*I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review
review 2: Mila Ferrera's Everything Between Us is about a man-whore artist named Daniel, whom believes that to really be successful with his art, he need to sell the whole package. He's young, sexy and all the rich cougars want him, so why not, right? Sell some of his art and sell some of his body and soul right along with it. One of his frequent patrons is an unhappily married lady by the name of Liza. She absolutely adores Daniel and all he has to offer in his "private art lessons" until her college daughter, Estella or Stella, screws up her "private lessons" by showing up on her doorstep as a college drop out. Stella is totally depressed and won't even leave the house now. What is a self-centered mom to do? Well give your own daughter "private lessons" of course. Daniel could perk anyone up! Reluctantly, Daniel agrees to the lessons with her daughter because he really needs the money. He has no expectations of this arrangement and decides to start off with actual art lessons for the girl until he sees her. She is a complete mess and a total broken shell of a woman. She also wants nothing to do with him, so Stella decides that she will make an enemy out of him and a war breaks out between the two until Daniel finds help from a friend whom points out that it could be more then just depression and diagnoses Stella with agoraphobia (fear of the outside). With this new insight, Daniel is determined to turn war into peace by helping her rather then fighting with her and in turn ends up helping himself as war turns from peace to love.Well as you can imagine, this was an interesting take on the contemporary romance genre. We don't often get a hero that takes money for sex. Usually we get a man-whore who does it for free but Daniel freely admits that many people have sex to advance their careers, why can't he? But he doesn't bank of the repercussions of his sex-capades. Once he meets Stella and she knows exactly what type of "private lessons" he's giving to her mother, he realizes that he wants more for himself than just being everyone's boy-toy and he wants Stella's love and respect. As the story unfolds, the two find strength in each other and eventually a HEA.This was kinda a mixed bag for me. There were no surprises or feats of genius that turned the genre on it's ear. It's a basic romance with some unique characters. The love triangle is a bit odd but hey, it is what it is. less
