review 1: I get really really sick of Hollywood sometimes. I just get so mad at all the glitzy, pressure to be this person that's put on people by the media. And just...you end up with this big long list of things you need to fit into, and it seems BEING a celebrity must be miserable. You go to the shoe store? "DOES GEORGE SMITH HAVE A SHOE SHOPPING ADDICTION?" etc. My point is: Mindy Kaling doesn't give a flying ****. And I just think that's the direction we need to go. She's a real actual human being, and yet she's as sharp as a tack, personally I consider her a hero of mine. Yes. I really really liked this book and I think you should read it :)
review 2: A fun, funny way to end 2014. I was an early fan of The Office (early as in, I dropped off shortly after Jim and Pa... morem got pregnant the first time) and a major fan The Mindy Project. So, I've been looking forward to reading Mindy's book. I was a little disappointed that her chapters on romance and men went only so far as - why do men put their shoes on so slowly? (????). I'd been hoping for some detailed juice on her relationship with BJ Novack. He might be an alluded to ex, but I don't know which one and I want to know!! The rest of her book is both hilarious and charming. Love that Mindy Kaling! less
