review 1: What a waste of ten minutes.Curses!! Sucked in by the funny title only to be left with a "What the Fuck was this" moment. Following the one year in a hamsters life was not as enjoyable as it sounds, especially with this ever so depressing sociopath. We see Eddie here plot his escapes, ponder his existence, And plan ways to murder his roommate. There was nothing funny or interesting about Eddie here, until his fateful demise at the sterile hands of a masked stranger.

Though "written" by a hamster, it reads as if it's the diary of a prisoner. The ... morefact that it is a hamster is what makes it so funny. An attempted hunger strike lasts a little more than ten minutes. A potentially revolutionary encounter with the house cat is disappointing when Edward realizes the feline is a "senseless brute". What seems like play to owners is torture to the rodent running himself ragged in an invisible ball. He is such a philosophical, existential hamster. This is a very quick read, but a lot of fun. less
