review 1: Well, that was a nail-biter. I seem to be hooked on WWII era experiences/memoirs, but this book took me to a completely different experience during that war. It's a true story of a plane crash of military folks stationed in New Guinea. The three survivors of the 20 or so passengers find themselves among primitive head-hunting natives who've never seen humans outside of their own archaic culture. quite an experience to read about.
review 2: I rated this book 4/5 stars. It is a very interesting read. I like how it combines history with adventure and tragedy. It is both factual and entertaining. The beginning is a bit slow but once you get past the exposition it is an exciting and thrilling book. I recommend this book to anyone was it looking for an adventurou
... mores book. Also to anyone who enjoys war themed literature. Though with the war theme it may seem to be geared toward males, I believe that both male and females will enjoy it. I would also recommend it to people over the age of 12 due to its violence and mature content. Overall it is an exciting, historical novel that can be enjoyed by many less

I felt like Decker (one of the survivors) didn't get a big enough voice in this telling.
