review 1: This was an great follow-up to a book I loved. I had some quibbles here and there, but there was so much to enjoy that it outweighs the problems. I will say, that there was not nearly enough scenes with Dreadnought Stanton in it. Then again, as he is my favorite character of the series. Every moment with him was gold though, so that makes up for when he isn't around. I loved his character's evolution. I loved Emily's. The revelation to her past and the confrontation with it was wholly unexpected and heartbreaking. It was funny, clever, inspired, and thoroughly enjoyable.
review 2: Okay, this WOULD be a five-star book if it weren't so sappy and lovey-dovey and if Stanton hadn't become less of a prick. (I'm not a big fan of sappy romantic stuff; GOOD romance, in
... moremy opinion, is the type where it always looks like somebody's going to die and then they just barely manage to scrape together their happily-ever-after.) Stanton is an amazing character BECAUSE he's such an annoying know-it-all, and I just didn't like the way he didn't get to be such an annoying pain in the you-know-where in this book. Other than that, totally amazing. I won't ruin anything, but the part with the Exunge and "flamma".... Unbeatable. It's so amazing that I dream about that scene when I'm bored. Definitely a must-read! less
