review 1: Bare Assets by M.L. Stephens4 Stars!!! Wow! Bare Assets is a really good short read. It had me hooked from the first page and I couldn't put it down until finished. I was hooked after reading the synopsis. With me being a Tennessee girl, I really liked the fact that this story took place close to home in Arkansas. I also liked the fact that Angela/Angie/Ang is an owner of a high class gentleman's club. Angela is such a strong woman. I love her past, present, and future, but my favorite is when her past collides with her present/maybe future. This book had me laughing at times and had me guessing at other times. This book kept me turning the pages and that is what I like. This was my first time reading any of M.L. Stephens books, but I must say that I am looking forward... more to reading the next book in this series called Bare Essentials. Bare Assets and Bare Essentials are both stand alone books, but can be read back to back to understand the characters better. If you are looking for a really good short read this is the one.
review 2: Wow I absolutely loved this! I read the whole book in 1 sitting, It was such a nice smooth read and I could not put it down. Angie is a strong woman who has been to hell and back and came out stronger, but still has her softer side which is bought out when she starts letting Dean into her life and when she is confronted with her past from Cutter. This was a very emotional read for me and I found myself shedding a few tears when you discover more about Deans life.M.L. Stephens has written an amazing story here and I cant recommend it enough. I have also read some of her previous work and she has definitely gained a fan! less
