review 1: I thoroughly enjoyed this book which I found engrossing and hard-hitting. Stories of child abuse are seldom easy to read unless there is a positive outcome and in Moll's case there was. It is testimony to the resilience of children and young people and their courage to fight back,rather than allow it to destroy their lives.This is well written with subtlety of content and an emotional insight into the life of an abused young girl. I thoroughly recommend it.
review 2: A story told by the victim of an abusive family and a horrible man called Bernie. Stories like this are of real benefit to the writer, helping them to understand what has happened to them, and helping them to overcome it.Although written with care, I thought 'Dirty Old Man' rather poorly organise... mored and the writing is not the best. It is still a story told from the heart, and as such, it has merit. less
