review 1: A good book and a very romantic love story. In describing Jeremy Rutherford, Ms. Risk give a chilling portrayal of a man who, right or wrong, has to have his way. Other reviewers have said the portrayal of Olivia’s reactions aren’t realistic. Let me tell you: They are. Having been in this same situation, I reacted the same way Olivia did, though in my case, I ran 1500 miles away from the source of the threat.Characterizations are spot-on and the hero, Luc, is a man we might all wish we could meet in real life. Though in the beginning, Olivia comes across as cruel in her treatment of him, once the cause is learned and the reason for her fear, her giving up everything, even the man she loves to protect her child doesn’t seem so cold after all. It’s a good story,... more with a good hero and heroine and I recommend it
review 2: This book, ugh, tormented me. I wanted to like it but I couldn't connect with the characters, I thought the story was too "story book" and I didn't enjoy the lines like "When would he be able to take her in his arms and taste the passion he'd missed so much?" [puke]The story was about 2 psychologists who were once lovers 10yrs ago and now were reunited. Her lies about her past was what separated them years ago and now because their love never died, even after all these years, she forced, to face her past and come clean to keep the love she's been 'starved' of for the last 10 years... again puke. This is one I won't recommend. less
