review 1: Abby Finds Her Calling is a fantastic Amish book. The story told how one person could be an inspiration to a whole community by showing love and forgiveness. This is my first novel to read by Naomi King and it held my attention from the moment I started reading until I finished the book. I could never guess what was going to happen next in each chapter. I thoroughly enjoyed reading Abby Finds Her Calling. This book is the first book in the Home At Cedar Creek series and I'm looking forward to reading book two.
review 2: I have read quite a few books pertaining to the Amish however Naomi's writing style and character perspective is wonderful! The characters were warm, loving, compassionate, stern, and in essence "pioneering" in their own way. There were some cha... moreracters I wanted to dislike (Zanna in the beginning and then Johnny) but through Naomi's writing and the story, I came to love them as well. This may be entitled Abby Finds Her Calling but it doesn't just revolve around Abby. The secondary characters are just as important and just as well written. I'm looking forward to the next in this series. less
