review 1: Raku Ichijo, the only son of the Shuei-Gumi yakuza gang leader, made a promise to a girl ten years ago that when they grew up they would find each other by unlocking his locket with her key, and they would get married! But Raku can't seem to remember her face or even her name! So he's been waiting for a girl with the key to his locket to turn up, secretly searching for her, but when his father proposes that Raku should become the lover of their rival yakuza gang's heiress so as to prevent a war between the two, does Raku have any choice but to give up on his promise?! Furthermore, the hot but rowdy new transfer student, Chitoge Kirisaki, whom Raku hates more than anyone, is the girl he must date to prevent a gang war!LOL. Now I see why the Americans call it False Love!! I ... morenever really knew what Nisekoi was about until now, but it isn't really that exciting. Plus, the only character design I *might* grow to like is Raku's. Although, then again, maybe the characters will grow on me. I just really don't think I was in the mood to read this sort of a comic. I guess I'll know next time though, right? Really-- the only reason why I decided to read this *now* is because I'm going to soon try out for a Nisekoi fan dub. I'm trying to figure out which character my voice would suit best, and to get a broader understanding of the Nisekoi world and its inhabitants. It was exciting at first, but... I don't know... I can't say that I even like this series yet... But hey, I have to make a debut somehow, right? (Even though I technically already have made my debut long before now.)Well, anyway, Nisekoi has good comedy in it, it isn't dry, but it's just not the style I'm growing into. Rather, I'm growing out of this one. All in all, this is a typical high school romance manga, but this time it's about the guy's viewpoint instead of the girl's. Pretty much the whole time it reminded me of a funnier and less perverted (and high school) version of Love Hina. Only, there is no harem in Nisekoi. LOL. Well, at least not yet?
review 2: 1- The art is pretty, very lovely and comedy, it made me laugh really. 2- The characters also loveable and enjoyable. Chitoge Kirisaki is super funny and I like her personality and I can say that she's my favorite.3- their reactions are adorable.4- the plot is not original but kinda promising. However, the story isn't original. I kept on feeling that I've seen that part somewhere, that reaction, that love triangle, that secret love, this, that, etc..I won't be judging this manga from just one volume, I'll read more so till then it's a nice read. less
