Furry Dreams

ok so I had 3 dreams last nigh. When I woke up from the first one it was so confusing, I had to go back to sleep to see what those things were and to make it clearer for me. I could only remember flashes of the dream like sections of the house, and walls. The next time I woke up to go to the bathroom and got back to the dream, so I guess the third dream was just an extension of the second. Anyway, this was my dream.

I dreamed that I was in a house with my little brother, he is 35 now I believe. But in the dream there were lots of windows on one side and there was a landing when you first walk in like the front door set of Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood but in my dream the landing was longer on both sides and that side of the wall on the left had only windows from just below the waste to the ceiling of the room and it had a small front yard. The house had all wood floors and if you walked into the house, there was a small closet directly across the room in front of the door and an old fireplace on the right and a hallway to the left. In the front room there was no furniture and the walls were blue, the hallway walls were white. There were things that would go missing in the house mainly food and small objects. I was staying with my brother a few days (in real life he is married with 3 boys between the ages of 12 and 8) and in the dream he was single. I walked into the front room and to the closet to get my jacket and saw something small, white and furry disappear under a silver blanket that was on the floor in the right back corner of the small closet. I opened the closet door to shed some light inside so I could see better and a gray ball of fur came from a hole that I could now see, in the back of the closet and it moved to the blanket as well. I was curious and said, “hey man you got something in here that’s moving”. My brother said yeah, I don’t mess with that just leave it alone, it was here when I got here. Ignore it.” I didn’t understand how you could ignore it, it was larger than a mouse but smaller than a cat. I moved the silver blanket and there were a few more of them. One was on it’s back like it wanted to be rubbed. It was a mouse or looked like one. But the others looked at me and they were kittens.

They looked so helpless, I told my brother, “how long have they been here, they must be hungry” He said “I never feed them, ignore them” I felt bad for them that they were inn that cold dark closet so I left the door open a little and started to walk down the hallway and then I heard something scramble across the floor behind me. When I turned to look I saw this furry thing that I assumed was one of the kittens, running to a coffee table by the fireplace where there was a piece of food, but within seconds it went from 4 inches tall to 2 feet tall and was running on 2 hind legs, it looked like an Ewok from behind. (I am not a big Star Wars fan) Now I wasn’t feeling nostalgic, or “awwww look a teddy bear” I felt fear and concern. It ran back to the closet and I was ready to leave. I began walking down the hallway to the front door and as I reached the steps this thing came running behind me on hind legs with it’s arms in the air like it wanted to get out, it was clawing at the back of my legs, I was wearing shorts and could feel the furry paws, there were no claws. It reminded me of a puppy that wanted to get out. My  brother was outside and I heard him say, “Don’t let it out”. So I opened the door and turned around and with my foot in it’s stomach gave it a nudge to push it away and I closed the door behind me. When I walked away from the house I could see it on the window seal hitting the window with it’s fists wanting to get out. I kept walking.

I woke up on my own. I do this often if I feel the dream is getting out of hand, or if I am in a situation where I am going to die. In my head I say something like, “I can’t be here, it’s time to wake up”. I always know I am dreaming and I always know I can wake up, it’s just that sometimes I allow it to go farther, and sometimes it escalates so fast I can’t stop it until it has gotten too far out of control. Then I wake myself up.

This was not one of those times. I kept walking, and then I woke up.

That was it.

(The picture of the kittens were on pinterest and when I tried to follow the link the picture wasn’t there so I just got it off pinterest  from This Way Come and the picture was saved to Cats and Kittens board)
