review 1: This book was too short to warrant a long review. I would definitely consider it a short story. I liked the writer's style and was compelled to read the story, but felt like the quality of the writing needs some polishing. Some light editing needs to be done. There were several times when the story lacked continuity, such as when Craven made Louise share a hotel room with him but then AFTER she's attacked he allows her space and freedom. The lone sex scene was almost cringe-worthy in its abruptness and it was strikingly different in tone than the rest of the story; in fact, I liked the chemistry between the hero and heroine BEFORE that. I think these issues wouldn't have been so glaring if the book had been more detailed. I also had problems understanding some of the lingo... more.Overall, I feel that this was an interesting take on a werewolf story and I'm interested to see where the story goes. But based on the combined ten reviews for the remaining two books, I won't be paying to read them. They are undetailed reviews that paint a glowing picture of the books, which does nothing to convince me that the writer has grown in any way.
review 2: The story and plot line is good. I wish there were parts where there's more detail. It jumps around a bit too, and it doesn't really tell you when it's going back in time.Anyways,I like how determine Craven is on getting back Jackie, who was his fated mate. He tries no matter how many times she pushes him away or tries to run from him. He has a lot of patience. Jackie is strong, even though she has forgotten a lot of her past due to an accident. I like how she's moved on with her life and tries to keep living it rather than dwelling in the past unknowns. When stuff starts to go down, she tries to put her faith in Craven, even though what he's saying to her sounds crazy. Many of the actions scenes are good, but I wish there was more detail or length to them. They seem to go by very quickly.I also wish Jackie would have started remember even a little bit of her past. Right now, it seems like her memory is hopeless.I'm interested in seeing what the next book brings. less
