review 1: This was an interesting book. It managed to touch on a wide variety of characters and introduce a new world to the readers. At times it felt as though the author was trying too hard to be casual in introducing all of these strange elements. If you are familiar with mythological creatures and such then this is a pretty good book. If you are not, then it can be a very confusing book. I did not manage to find any parts where the author gave out too much contradictory information, but on the other hand, some of the POV was a little muddled. It was a pretty good read, and I may explore more of this series in the future.
review 2: It was okay but a few things confused/ irritated me; I didn't really understand why elton was in the story he didn't seem all that r
... moreelevant- perhaps he'll be important in future books but he seemed a bit pointless in this one. It also annoyed me how quickly Michelle got over the dad thing the author told us she was annoyed but she didn't actually act that bothered and started calling him dad immediately which was a bit weird for me. less

I don't get all the raving reviews, this book was too slow and the dialogue was forced.
