review 1: A really fascinating history of how the ICBM was developed and how the race with the Russians was won. Starting from the close of World War II there was a furious race between the two super powers to effectively deploy nuclear weapons. Bennie Schriever sounds like an absolutely amazing person with skills to manage an incredible effort like this. The Minuteman missle system and its build in redundancy was fascinating to learn about.
