review 1: Not just a collection of interviews with random celebrities, but a masterful remix of interview excerpts that joined together speaks to a larger and more encompassing theme – the human condition. Strauss possesses an uncanny ability to achieve deep rapport with his subjects, embed himself in their lives and go beyond the “What’s your favourite colour” type interview question. Totally fascinating work. Highly recommended.
review 2: by only focusing on the interesting conversations by interesting people it makes entertaining reading for even the celeb uninterested. not to say their isn't huge stars like Tom cruise or legends like bo diddley it just set's aside the usual self promotion. what's left is crazy er than ud imagine which is amazing considerin
... moreg I d already imagined them to be a sandwich short.the interviews are cut in a clever way to form a kind of narrative that ends with focusing on the people who have come out the other side wiser with the humility I'd imagine being closer to death brings you less

much too choppy for me to actually enjoy. strauss jumps around too much from person to person.

Not a bad collection of short stories. The Snoop Dogg story was hilarious.
