review 1: Started volunteering today with a local elementary school doing lunch time reading with students. This book was selected as today's read by my third grade mentee G. who says he picked it because he likes other books by the same author. G. thought the vocabulary might be for high school kids but we got 4 good words from it to review next week: anonymous, subdue, plea, and keratin. We both learned something new about the hook like structures on cats' tongues called papillae. G. got a few good laughs from it but I liked his joke best: What do you call a bear without any teeth? ... a gummi bear.
review 2: Cats are dicks. Big surprise. I have a cat and he is the typical bad kitty.This time bad kitty gets nasty and stinky. Well, time for a bath. They try bribes a... morend stories. And even a dream sequence. Nothing works until telling bad kitty about the dog getting a bath and then all is fine. She puts up a heck of a fight. This was a totally true story of giving a cat a bath. You walk away feeling like you aren't the only one and having a laugh. Was such a cute story. less
