review 1: One does not have to be knowledgeable about werewolves to appreciate this well-written book. If you just like to read stories of the paranormal, then you'll want to delve into this masterful novel, rich with suspense.Melody is a journalism student working part-time as a waitress & out of funds to continue her studies. She's approached by a lawyer, Aldrich, who is employed by an ultra-rich & very powerful man, Greyson. Greyson has purchased a photograph & needs to learn more about the man who took the photograph, Ryne Taylor, & specifically where it was taken. For reasons which Aldrich does not understand, Greyson has chosen Melody to do the research, paying her handsomely in advance, but having her report only to Aldrich. After following a lead, Melody travels to a smal... morel town in Canada, where she discovered that Ryne lives a very private life on the outskirts of town in an old gated mansion. He promises to allow her an interview but strings her along as to when. She finds herself attracted to this handsome man, who comes with personal baggage. What happens after that will leave you turning pages as rapidly as your fingers will allow, setting aside any activities you may have planned or forgetting all else you may have on your mind.
review 2: OMG This book.... Let me say it! UUUUUUGGGGGGHHHHHHH! That is totally how I felt the entire time! OMG the dragging! On and On about absolutely nothing that had to do with the story at times. Annoying. I usually read one of these books in like 2-3 days. It took me close to a week. I was uninterested because there was nothing going on. And when the stuff did start to happen it was rushed and stupid. Spoiler: Why drag on and on about him not wanting a interview? Why did Lucy die? No reason. Aldrich did not even get blamed for it, she got no justice. And Mel just automatically 4gave Ry for that display and attitude at the shop when they had the big fight? WTH? That was pretty intense and Mel is suppose to be strong.. that was stupid. That moment i felt her pain i was really into the book and the author just brushed it off in the end. And the ending was so rushed. Her wolf change was insignificant, so was their blood bonding. He stops in the middle of "the love making" and asks her awkwardly about the blood bonding, and then she yes and makes a comment about "lovemaking as dogs" Really? ........ And when the boding starts she actually points it out by saying "Its starting!" Again. STUPID!!! Such a disappointment. And the book was like 1047 pages long... ewww. less

Loved this series. This is book 4 so please read book 3 before since the characters over lap. The story line was very good and had great characters depth. About 1000 pgs. Ryne has moved his pack to Canada. They have settled down in a small town where everyone knows who you are and what's going on, except that his pack are the only wolfs in town. Ryne was doing good until his brother Kane called say a reporter was looking for him to talk about his art work. He know that was bad and he knows he has to protect the secret of were's all over. So when the reporter (Mel) shows up, he decides to lead her on and just watch her. See if she knows the secret or is just looking for a story. Mel and Ryne fight the bond they have and slowly end up bonding in different ways. But when things get crazy, Ryne and Mel fight and she goes home to tell her bosses she can't get the story. Ryne freaks and fallows her to Chicago. Soon Mel and Ryne are fighting for their lives. Can't wait to read the next book.

This story picks up where the last one left off with Ryne starting his own wolfpack out in the middle of nowhere..or Canada. He is trying to avoid being interviewed by a young college journalist and ends up falling for her not knowing why. Through the twists and turns he ends up falling in love with her and has to choose between killing her or letting her knowledge of his fellow werewolves kill his family. I definitely enjoyed this book more than the last one due to the suspense and turn of events. There still are steamy sex scenes in this book but I think it focuses more on the werewolf way of life and how far they have to go to keep it concealed.
