review 1: This was on the front page of my library's ebook page, and It looked like something I'd like, so I checked it out. Opened it up, and it clocked in at a whopping 63 pages--so, not even a novella, a short story. Which is fine! And it was readable, but there wasn't any conflict or plot to speak of, and the characters were definitely not interesting enough to hold my attention for any longer. The writing was fine, though. I have no complaints, as it was free and didn't take any time to read, but it wasn't awesome, either. I wouldn't seek out the author again.
review 2: I've enjoyed all of this author's previous works, but I just couldn't get into this one. There was a lot of telling, and I felt like I was viewing this relationship from a distance. Just when the cou... moreple finally has a meaningful conversation on page, the book was over. The Olympic swimmer aspect was something different, and I liked how the book was broken up into vignettes of sort; the birthday one was my favorite. less
