review 1: Taming Ryder, 2nd book in Souls Of The Knight by Nicola Haken! This is the story of Ryder Richardson. He's made a good name for himself as one of the most famous gay pornstars and finally found the place where he feels at home. Come-on is there anything better than getting paid major dollars to FUCK hot guys, see the world and live a fun filled life. Now enters Mason George from Back Door Studios...(what a cool name for a gay porn studio) he's the newest exclusive model and possibly the best ride that Ryder will ever have. Ryder is quite damaged from his past and you will see just how damaged his life was. You will understand why he choses gay porn for a career as this is the first place that he feels completely accepted for who he is. Mason has not had the life that Ryder... more has but he's grieving the loss of his mother. So with no one left in his life he heads out on his own and finds his way to Back Door Studios. Mason is very different from Ryder as he realizes that he has chosen this direction in his life until he can figure what he actually wants, that is until he meets Ryder. I completely fell in love with these characters and how the author wrote about this industry, she wrote a very real and authentic account of how most guys turn to porn. I loved how Ryder and Mason had no one in their lives and they found each other in a world of sex and hurt. Even with their pain they found love! I truly cared deeply for these characters and I felt a huge connection with them. Nicola Haken did an amazing job with Taming Ryder that I recommend it to anyone who wants to read a beautifully written MM novel!!! review 2: MY REVIEW.I dont want to give too much of the story away in my review, but let me just give you some of Nicola Haken's awesomeness, she does not disappoint in any of her books, and this one is exceptional. I fell for Nicola's characters in Sawyer and Jake's story, the first in the Soul Knight's series, Being Sawyer Knight.Taming Ryder was so great and Ryder's story is an emotional one, your heart strings will be well and truly tugged. Ryder's tormented by demons from his past and survives by not getting too close to anyone, hes the love em and leave em guy, until Mason.Mason has his own emotional issues, but together they make such a beautiful couple. Throughout the book Ryder and Mason must work together to figure out how to trust each other, how to open up and how to love and let the another in. Mason and Ryder form such a strong wonderful bond throughout this story.All the secondary characters really bolster the story up, i was glad we got a bit more form Sawyer and Jake in Ryder's book it was nice to catch up with them a bit.Be ready for a roller coaster ride of emotions and edge of the seat moments, heart wrenching chapters followed by a tear filled love story that will knock you on your ass.This book is just fantastic and i loved every word. less
