review 1: This story was sad, funny, sexy, and actually filled with some great info. The story was great and after the first 3 or 4% I was hooked and had to keep reading to see what was going to happen next. There were parts that felt like my heart was being ripped out and then others that it was swelling and filling with love because the way Ky's brother and Ryker were treating her. Yes there were a few mistakes here and there and at times it did bug me. There were also times when they way Kaiya was acting that also annoyed me but I think the way the character was written was very real. I thought for a minute I was going to have to go hunt down Ms. Nikki Narvaez and make her write the second book faster because I was worried about a cliffhanger but there was not one. I still want t... morehat second book NOW but I will try to be patient and waitI'm going to stop with that before I toss in a spoiler that I don't want to. Just now that it is a great book and I am looking forward to the second book to come out.
review 2: I love the cover on this book! Hot, tattooed guy, what's not to love? Kaiya is a survivor of some very traumatic abuse. Let me warn you, if rape and sexual abuse bother you, this may be one for you to skip. Nikki Narvaez did a really good job of portraying Kaiya, I really felt her pain and wanted to scream for what happened to her. Ryker was a bad ass self-defense instructor who is taken with Kaiya from first sight but the beauty runs from him even though he can see she wants him too. Something is just holding her back. I liked this story, I really did, there were just a few things that didn't quite work for me. I'm not going to pick them all apart because it could give away some spoilers. I'll let you judge for yourself. It definitely wasn't enough to turn me off from reading further work from this author and I look forward to doing that in the future.~ Erin, 3 1/2 stars less
