review 1: This was such an emotional book. My heart went out to the main character Sophie. Being a teenager and having to face so many diversities. Luckily she has some great friends who are always there for her. The characters were so well written and completely believable. I feel like I know these characters and I'm completely invested in their lives. This isn't your typical story even though it addresses many typical issues people face. If you're looking for something different this is one you gotta try.
review 2: Sophie is allergic to the sun. She has to make sure that ever piece of skin is covered before she goes outside, but that's okay because usually the weather where she lives is cloudy and rainy. Her mother treats her like there is nothing wrong with her and sh
... moree just needs to take off the clothes and sunglasses, yet she forces her to continually go to the hospital for a special treatment program that is trying to find a cure for what she has. Then there is a new kid in school named Myles. He seems particularly interested in her and won't leave her alone. Sophie doesn't want to get too close because of past mistakes. She doesn't need to have her mistakes repeated. She knows what guys usually want and she's done with them, but he makes her feel things she shouldn't. He acts just as odd as her other friends, if not more, but then he confesses that he used to be allergic to the sun just like her. He outgrew it though. Which gives Sophie hope that maybe she can too. What else she finds out about Myles will makes her take a step back and rethink things. There are times where he is gone for long periods of time and she has no idea where he goes during his absences from her life. Things with her mom just seem to get worse and worse until she finally moves in with her gay brother and his boyfriend. There she finally gets the peace and quiet she so desperately seeks, but that doesn't last for long.Life seems to always throw her for a loop. I'm not going to spoil anymore of the book for you. This was a great read! less
