review 1: This fabulous contemporary romance, third in the Heirs of Damon series but easily read as a standalone is the story of Sarah and Jonathan. Sarah has worked for Jonathan for several years and they've always had a professional relationship, one that Sarah wishes could turn into something more. But Jonathan is a dedicated scientist and his focus is on his research, leaving him little time to imagine his assistant as anything other than a friend and co-worker. When the funding by his wealthy uncle for his research is threatened by his unmarried state, Sarah volunteers to be his pretend fiancée. Suddenly together in a more social situation, Jonathan sees Sarah as she really is - a beautiful woman who just happens to love science like him, someone who he could easily picture ... moresharing his life more fully. Will he let Sarah in or hide his new feelings for her in fear of losing the professional relationship that he values so highly? I loved this story! There is nothing more appealing to me than having two introverted characters thrust into a situation where they really see each other and discover that there is a dormant attraction that has been just waiting to come to life. Jonathan is well portrayed as a handsome, shy, serious man, intent on his research and not looking for any kind of relationship. He trusts Sarah and values her help and her friendship but doesn't see her as a woman - until she lets her hair down, dresses up and the assistant he's always known becomes his femme fatale. Sarah was also wonderful as an equally studious and shy woman who's had a secret crush on her boss for so long that the chance to show him her feminine side fills her with delight and trepidation. Having to pretend to be engaged in order to fool his uncle means sharing a bedroom and seeing each other in a new light, resulting in sparks flying and an attraction that doesn't go away, no matter how much Jonathan wishes it would. The first love scene that they share is so sweet and sexy, a nighttime romp that leaves them both well satisfied yet shattered at the knowledge that things between them may never be the same. The sexual tension plays on and the resulting progression of their relationship is well written and believable. Secondary characters add to the dynamics of the story and feature other characters who have their own stories in the series. Overall I found this novel to be wildly entertaining, with steamy scenes, engaging characters, humourous situations and a delightful romance. 5 stars!
review 2: barusan cek, kok gw Playing the Playboy blm bikin review ya? apa gw blm baca? omona muahahahaha... berarti ntar malem gw baca deh LOL Jonathan Damon, si cupu, si pendiem, si ilmuan, si jenius dari Damon bersaudara (sepupuan si sama Horison + Andrew) sedari kecil selalu merasa musti menjadi yang terbaik untuk mendapatkan kasih sayang keluarganya. Ortunya mati pas kecelakaan bareng sama si ortu nya duo Damon itu jg, dan setelah itu diasuh sama Lord Uncle, awalnya die kira si Cyrus bakalan beda sama ortunya, tapi nyatanya sama aja, die ttp di taro di sekolah asrama bukanya disuruh pulang ke manor. Jadi with or without ortunya, si Jonathan ttp sama aja, die merasa musti harus jadi yg terbaik biar lord uncle sayang ama die. Setidaknya beda lah sama Duo Damon, secara mereka sodaraan sementara Jonathan cuma sepupu. Sarah (gw lupa nama belakangnya), mempunyai keluarga yang bertolak belakang sama keluarga Damon, die dr keluarga menengah yang hangat. Pokoknya dia selalu punya tempat kembali, orang2 yg sayang sama die dlm kondisi apapun. Sarah ude jadi asisten Jonathan selama 3th, tau lah kebiasaan masing-masing, die jg tau kalo Jonathan ini ga banyak omong dan lebih seneng nunjukin dari pada ngomong kl care ke orang. Nah, masalah datang dari Cyrus Damon (sebenernya die sendiri jg sayang si sama ke4 ponakannya, tp die sendiri jg yah.. hidupnya keras. Cyrus rada berubah pas dari buku 1 si, meski awalnya jg marah2 jg ke Harry). Si Lord Uncle ini kan yg jadi penyandang dana untuk lab nya Jonathan, dan selama ini Jonathan sll menghindari investor karena ga mau hasil uji cobanya di jadiin profit bagi orang-orang tertentu. Nah si Cyrus ini pengen Jonathan merit, die pengen Jonathan bahagia kek duo Damon itu, kalo misalnya kaga mau Cyrus mau narik dana buat lab nya Jonathan.Sarah yang denger pembicaraan itu mengajukan diri buat jadi "tunangan palsu" nya Jonathan dan pergi ke London buat menghadiri pernikahan Harry, yang tidak Jonathan tau adalah *drum drum drum* Sarah itu ude suka sama Jonathan dari lama, tp ttp berlagak cool hehehehe dan bagaimana dengan Jonathan? trus gimana si Jonathan yg pendiem bisa berinteraksi sama Duo Damon? dan Benjamin Damon.. ah, gw penasaran kenapa die benci banget sama lord uncle hehehehe.. kita tunggu next novelnya XD less
