review 1: This sweet romance is the story of Micah and Alice. When Micah is left with his 5 month old daughter, a baby he never knew about until the untimely death of her mother, it's a blessing in disguise for Alice, who can move out of her parent's house to help care for the baby. Bonding over the child, there is a rekindling of feelings from their teenage friendship - but can they be brave enough to take this chance on new love?I quite enjoyed this story. The themes of forgiveness, redemption and love are strong and well portrayed. Micah is coming to grips with being a father, at the same time feeling distinctly unworthy for such a blessing when he spent many years away from the church and living a lifestyle that wasn't really what he wanted. These feelings of inadequacy affect h... moreis relationship with Alice as he truly believes he doesn't deserve her. Alice on the other hand is a sweet and caring woman, who has carried a tendre for Micah for many years but doesn't ever expect it to be reciprocated. However as they become used to each other again, spending time together and helping each other, those feelings are back in the forefront. The development of their romance is sweet and tender as they both come to grips with their feelings for each other. It ties in nicely with the theme of Easter, of rebirth and renewal. Overall it was a lovely story, with realistic characters and a satisfying happy ending. 4 stars. Note: a copy of this story was provided by the author for review.
review 2: A great second installment in Noelle Adams Winter Park series.Alice is the part-time clerk at the church and Micah is the Pastor's brother. They were close as teens before Micah went away to college, but then fell out of touch. Micah believes his choices in the past do not make him worthy of Alice.Alice and Micah seem to both have baggage from their past. Micah thinks he has made mistakes he can never be forgiven and Alice feels she is forever to choose the wrong man. I think their misgivings are very accurate. I enjoyed the support they found in Danielle and Jessica and their mutual faith. While this book has spiritual undertones it is no way to be considered Christian Fiction. This is the second book I have read in this series and I would definitely read more from this author.I received this book from the publisher via NetGalley for my honest review. less
