review 1: Que libro MÁS tedioso de leer por el simple hecho de que no me gustó para nada ni los personajes ni el desplante que tenían. En sí la historia es aburrida (por lo menos para mí lo fue), pero lo que me mantuvo metida en él fue el querer saber quién demonios había matado a la esposa de Eli y que era lo que tenía que ver la leyenda del tesoro pirata y su familia. No podía dejarlo de lado mucho más de una semana porque siempre me preguntaba " ¿Y si el maldito se vuelve a meter en la casa y ahora lo descubren? ¿A quién matará ahora? ¿Qué pasará?" y era solo eso lo que me dejaba paranoica, el misterio es lo bueno, los acontecimientos de relleno eran puro aburrimiento. No lo desprecio, pero me exasperó demasiado y cuando por fin lo terminé, me saqué un gran p... moreeso de encima.
review 2: This is the best book Nora Roberts has written in years. A Contemporary Thriller with little gore or violence leave the reader to fill in much of the scene with their imagination and thus focuses the reader on the story. The characters are realistic, easy to relate to and approachable. Eli is a man at a crossroads, figuring out what he really wants in life after his world fall apart. Abra is a woman who has a dark past that could have turned her bitter but has learned to be happy with her place in the world.A compelling story line with an elusive villain keeps the reader engaged, wondering if the realism of the story will lead to a happy ending or if the links to reality will lead to an ending that is more realistic than romantic. The pacing in the book keeps the reader turning the pages and not wanting to put the book down. I read this in one long day, ignoring other pressing matters, this is definitely a story I will be re-reading in the future. less
