review 1: I was disappointed in this book. I wish I could give it 1.5 stars, but I settled with 2 instead. I love Nora Roberts and was all excited about a tetralogy (4 book series) I could sink my teeth into. This book just lacked the character development I usually enjoy so much with her books. The main character just seemed ADD and borderline hysterical and the main male part seemed flighty. Instead of making me go "aw", it just made me go "ugh". Got the next one from the library at the same time but didn't bother reading it based on this one. I still am a Nora Roberts fan, but based on this some of her books seem hit or miss.
review 2: Nora Robert's simple diction and plot made it an easy read. There isn't much thinking involved; it's pretty straight to the point
... more. I chose to read this book because I enjoyed reading chick flicks in the past, but my choice has changed. I wasn't enthralled with the story and prefer a more interesting storyline. Many chapters I felt were there simply to add pages to the book. There wasn't much development to the characters, and I just kept waiting for something interesting to happen. Mac and Carter are both pretty low key characters. Nothing's different about them; I sometimes doubt their compatibility. I'm not planning on reading the next book in the series whatsoever. I've decided my interest is more in the thriller, suspense, mystery genres. less
